SVM Prana Electric Bike Launch Price in India is Rs 1.99 lakh

The bike comes in 3 variants namely Class, Grand and Elite

Indian EV segment is becoming a centre of attention with new and established brands vying for buyers attention. One new entry is the launch of SVM Prana Electric Bike at a price tag of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), India. The all-electric bike is available in 3 variants namely Class, Grand and Elite. The latter two are already available in the Indian market. Deliveries are expected to start from March 2021 onwards.

The electric bike will compete against Kridn and Ultraviolet F77 in the domestic market. The brand was set-up by Mohanraj Ramaswamy who had earlier worked in the EV space with manufacturers like Tesla. The Grand and Elite variants retail at Rs 2.0 lakh and Rs 3.0 lakh respectively. Both prices mentioned here are (ex-showroom), India. 




The company is focusing on developing sustainable habits among consumers. The Coimbatore based firm is offering Rs 25,000 discount on SVMCSR Green credit. To get the discount, the buyer has to plant ten saplings in different places and has to send the required proof. There is also financing plans available with EMI standing at Rs 5200 per month. 

SVM Prana Electric Bike is based on steel double-cradle tube frame having a weight of 165 kgs. It boasts of a top speed of 123 kmph which is quite comparable to the current 150cc bikes on sale in the country. According to the manufacturer, an acceleration time of under 4 seconds for a 0-60 km/h sprint. The electric bike has a claimed range of 126 kms on a single full charge. It is powered by a bub mounted intelligent air-cooled BLDC motor with battery options of 4.32 kW or 7.2 kW 72 Volt Lithium-ion battery pack. 

The Grand trim offers a claimed single-charge range of 126 kms while the top-end Elite derivative claims a total range of 225 kms on a single charge. It comes equipped with four driving modes namely Practice, Driver, Sports and Reverse. Suspension duties here are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock absorber towards the rear.
