Volkswagen’s T-Cross SUV will Compete with Hyundai’s Creta

The car will be unveiled in the second-half of 2018.

VW plans to add as many as 19 new SUVs to its global line-up and the T-Cross will be the smallest of them all. The car will share styling elements with the bigger T-Roc and is based on the same platform as the current Polo. The car could share a lot of parts with the Polo and Virtus as well.

The car could be powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 112hp and 175Nm and it could be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. VW may offer different gearboxes for other markets. Volkswagen’s new small SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Renegade, Nissan Kicks and the Renault Captur.

VW is currently considering the viability of bringing the S-cross to India as well.
