We had recently brought an article to you regarding the supposed changes that Tata will bring about in their sub-4 meter compact SUV Nexon in the coming times. However, it seems that the brand has more in store for the current version of Nexon in the market and the company has gone ahead and introduced a new variant of the SUV in the market to take on newer rivals like the Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue.
This trim of Nexon launched by Tata has been named XT+ and it will take the place of the older XT trim. The price of the new trim by the brand has been set at Rs. 8.02 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi (petrol) and Rs. 8.87 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi (diesel). This marks a price bump of Rs. 7,000 for the new trim of the sub-4 meter compact SUV.
Talking of the features that one can expect from the XT+ trim of the Nexon, the company is offering DRLs with projector lamps, and a 8-speaker surround system with an infotainment system with USB/AUX/Bluetooth connectivity, however the Connectnext feature of the top trims is still not present here. Other features like the automatic climate control and alloy wheels are also missing from the XT+ trim. However, the brand is now offering height adjustable driver seat on the new trim of Nexon. The XT+ trim also comes with front fog lamps, something that was earlier not offered on the XT trim. Talking of front fog lamps, the brand has also started offering the same feature on the XZ trim of Nexon, which is a trim that sits just above the XT+ trim in the market.
Talking of Tata Nexon, it had a polarizing design when it was launched in the market and it has not changed since then. However, the design has also won some fans in the market and the sales of the SUV are an indicator of the same. Tata Nexon has good space on the rear seats and the features list of the car is also pretty loaded. Safety features on the car include ABS, EBD, airbags, voice warnings, reminders for seat belts and low fuel, child safety locks, along with many others.
Tata Nexon comes with single petrol and diesel engine options and both of them are turbocharged/ The petrol is a 1.2L unit rated for 108 Bhp and 170 Nm, while the diesel is a 1.5L unit rated for 108 Bhp and 260 Nm. The two engines come paired with 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6 speed AMT unit.
The Safari and Harrier SUVs, which are based on Land Rover's D8 Platform and have the highest 5-star GNCAP rating, are the safest cars on Indian roads, according to the company.
