Tata Motors Achieves a New Milestone of 10,000 EV Customers

The homegrown automaker offers Tata Nexon EV and Tata Tigor EV in the country

Tata Motors has achieved a new milestone as it now has 10,000 customers for its electric vehicles in the country. The homegrown automaker further claims that the first 10,000 EVs have been led by early adopters. Furthermore, it has a 70 percent market share in the electric passenger vehicle segment in the country. Tata Nexon EV tops the list. In August 2021, Tata Motors crossed 1000 unit volume.

These customers have laid a strong foundation for EV ownership to further expand and have created a path for other prospective buyers to follow,” as commented by Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors.


Talking about Tata Nexon EV, it is priced in the range of Rs 13.99 lakhs - Rs 16.85 lakhs (ex-showroom). Furthermore, the all-electric SUV is offered in a total of five variants namely XM, XZ+, XZ+ LUX, Dark XZ+, and Dark XZ+ LUX. Under the hood, it gets a powerful AC motor with a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. The vehicle is capable of achieving an ARAI-certified driving range of 312 km on a full charge. Feature-wise, the Nexon EV comes equipped with projector headlamps, leatherette upholstery, smartphone app for remote vehicle monitoring, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, electric sunroof,  leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, automatic climate control system with rear AC vents, and reverse parking camera.

Tata Tigor EV, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 11.99 lakhs - Rs 13.14 lakhs (ex-showroom). The all-electric sedan is sold in four variants namely XE, XM, XZ+, and XZ+ Dual Tone. Moving on, the vehicle gets a 26-kWh liquid-cooled high energy density battery pack that is capable of returning an ARAI-certified driving range of 306 km. Tata has equipped the Tigor EV with a plethora of features. These include a smart key with push-button start, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs, portable charging cable, and 30+ connected car features like remote commands and remote diagnostics. Besides these, Tata has also launched the XPRES-T electric sedan for fleet operation.
