Tata Motors commences supply of 40 electric buses to Lucknow city.

As the future of electric mobility is getting closer, manufacturers have started developing electric vehicles for passenger as well as commercial purpose. Tata Motors have come up with new electric buses for public transport for Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. They have started delivering their new Ultra 9m AC electric buses to Lucknow City Transport Services Ltd.

The Indian automaker will be supplying 40 electric buses to Lucknow City Transport Services over the next four months in a phased manner. The electric bus has a total range of 150 kms on a single charge. They have installed fast charging station at Alambagh depot. It comes with liquid cooled Li-ion batteries that are placed on the roof to prevent breakdown during waterlogging.

Tata Motors currently has tenders to supply 255 electric buses to six public transport undertakings which includes WBTC (West Bengal), LCTSL (Lucknow), AICTSL (Indore), ASTC (Guwahati), J&KSRTC (Jammu) and JCTSL (Jaipur).  Tata Motors has also started working on developing their electric mini-bus segment.
