The manufacturer’s all-new sedan is part of its technology showcase.

Indian carmaker, Tata Motors celebrated its 20th appearance at the Geneva motor show with the debut of its new electric powered sedan. The sleek-looking sedan had been teased prior to the show; it comes equipped with the company’s Omega platform rather than the AMP platform. This car also showcases Tata’s interior designs of the future.

This new sedan uses the company’s new Impact Design 2.0 language, similar to what is seen on the H5X SUV and 45X hatchback. The styling of the car is considerably different from what we are used to seeing from the manufacturer. One can see design influences from the 45X hatchback concept towards the front of the car. The car also has similar LED headlights that flow outwards. However, the grille on this concept is larger and has a nice aluminium finish.

The concept breaks the typical three-box sedan template with a fastback-like design. The concept car sits on large 21 inch alloys. The car also has neat flowing lines from the font to back with a thick shoulder. Other nice touches include – flush door handles and well-designed rear-view mirrors.

The Tata is also equipped with what the company calls a ‘prognostics controller for forecasting service requirements of vital components, predictive energy management based on live traffic and connected technologies such as cloud computing, analytics and geospatial mapping’.

At present, we have no more information on the electric sedan, but it could become a low-volume electric option in the manufacturer’s line-up.
