Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz Price Hiked

Tata Nexon diesel price has not been increased while Tata Altroz gets price revision in both petrol and diesel trims

Tata Motors has increased the prices of Nexon petrol and Altroz by Rs 14500 and Rs 16000, respectively, in the country. Tata Nexon diesel variants have not seen a hike in price and they are still priced between Rs 8.45-12.70 Lakhs. The petrol range of Nexon, which had an introductory price of Rs 6.95 Lakhs, now starts at Rs 7 Lakhs while the mid and top-spec variants have witnessed a rise in price by Rs 14,500. As for Tata Altroz, it was launched at Rs 5.29 Lakhs but after the price revision, it starts at Rs 5.44 Lakhs. All the aforementioned prices are Ex. Showroom.

Talking about Tata Altroz diesel, the company has not made any changes to the pricing of base variant and it continues to be retailed at Rs 6.99 Lakhs. However, the other variants get a hike of Rs 15,000. Due to this increase in price, the range-topping diesel XZ Option variant is now sold at Rs 9.35 Lakhs. As for the petrol range, the Altroz XE Rhythm has received the highest price hike of Rs 16,000, followed by the flagship XZ Option variant which gets an increase in price by Rs 15,000 with new sticker price of Rs 7.75 Lakhs. Tata Altroz is available with a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 85bhp and 113Nm. The diesel variants draw power from a 1.5L turbocharged engine which generates power output of 89bhp and torque performance of 200Nm. Both the engines are linked to a 5-speed manual unit.

Coming to Tata Nexon petrol range, it is now priced in a bracket of Rs 7-11.34 Lakhs. It is a well known fact that the Nexon is one of Tata's consistent performer and best-selling models in the country. Despite being pitted in the highly competitive sub 4-metre SUV segment which already has several heavyweights in the form of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, it has always maintained a decent sales momentum. In fact, the segment is going to get a bit more crowded by the arrival of Kia Sonet and Toyota Urban Cruiser in a few weeks from now. Tata Nexon is offered with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine with 118bhp & 170Nm and a 1.5L diesel engine which develops 108bhp and 260Nm. Both the engines are available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
