Kerala government is known for its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. Illustrating this, the Kerala Government has ordered 65 units of Tata Nexon EV for its law enforcement agencies. The electric SUV from Tata has caught the attention of the Kerala Government. The Southern State's Motor Vehicle Department ordered Tata Nexon EV for its 65 enforcement agencies under the Safe Kerala project. The EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Ltd) is going to purchase the sub-compact electric SUV in bulk quantities and it will be leased to the Motor Vehicle Department. Kerala’s MVD will sign the contract for 8 years and will pay the money upfront. As it's an electric vehicle, the Kerala government will set-up charging stations for all the 65 enforcement agencies.
Tata Nexon EV is equipped with a 30.2 KWh Lithium-ion battery which is IP67-certified. The electric SUV will take an hour for the battery to get charged from 0- 80 percent with the aid of a fast charger. If you are using a normal charger, it takes 8.5 hours to charge from 10-90 percent. The energy consumption rate for the SUV is 100 Wh/km and it can go upto 312 kms on a single charge. Tata Nexon EV can do a 0-60kmph in just 4.6 seconds and 0-100kmph in an unbelievable 9.9 seconds. The driver has two drive modes: Drive and Sport.
If we talk about performance, Tata Nexon EV churns out 127 bhp of maximum power and 245 Nm of peak torque. Tata Motors is offering 8 years or 1.60 Lakh Kilometers warranty for the electric motor as well as the battery pack.
In the Indian market, Tata Nexon comes in three variants- XM priced at Rs 13,99,00, XZ+ costs Rs 14,99,000 and XZ+ LUX priced at Rs 15,99,000. All the prices are Ex-Showroom,India
