Tata Motors launched the Nexon in the price range of Rs 6.94 lakhs - Rs 12.69 lakhs (ex-showroom). The sub-compact SUV is available in ten variants namely XE, XM, XZ, XZ+, XZ+(S), XZ+(O), XMA, XZA+, XZA+(S), and XZA+(O). Recently, a Nexon owner from Nashik got his XM variant modified from a Mumbai-based car modifier named Rohit Mehta Sai Auto Accessories.
As for the exterior updates, the modified Nexon gets projector LED headlamps along with foglamps up front. The black-colored door handles have been replaced with chrome highlighted ones. Apart from this, the modified Nexon gets piano black shark fin antenna instead of center antenna. Other features include dual-tone roof rails, diamond wheel caps that provide the SUV a sporty look. These diamond wheel caps seem to be a cost-effective option when compared to diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rest of the elements remain as it is. At the rear, the SUV continues to get tri-arrow signature LED tail lights.
Talking about the interior features, a range of branded after-market accessories have been added to the Nexon. These include seat covers with black and silver finishing to give it a premium feel and steering-wheel cover with a cross stitch pattern. Floor mats in honeycomb design with a button-locks have been thrown into the package. The major highlight of the cabin modification includes the addition of an 8-inch touchscreen system just like the one seen in a Tesla. This has infact replaced the 7-inch touchscreen unit. This large screen enhances the overall driving experience by offering a range of features. It fits comfortably on the center console. Apart from this, the system comes equipped with a direct mirror casting that allows the user’s smartphone screen to be displayed on the 8-inch touchscreen. Other notable features available in the system include the Waze GPS navigation app and Google Maps.
Safety is synonymous with Tata Nexon XM and thus it has been given a 5-star Global NCAP Safety Rating. Along with standard safety features, the SUV has received an update as well. The feeds from the rear camera along with red, yellow, and green backing guidelines will be clearly displayed on the touchscreen. Plus, the steering controls will be displayed on the screen. There is also an equalizer that can easily be used to adjust the sound of the stock speaker system.
As for the engine options they remain unchanged. The modifications on the Tata Nexon looks quite good. All these upgrades have been done for around Rs 40,000. The SUV also comes with other modification that include DRLs, diffusers, piano black accents, and reflector lights among others.
