Tata Punch Electric SUV to Launch Soon

Bookings for the Tata Punch EV are currently open for a token amount of INR 21,000.

Tata Motors revealed its much-awaited Punch EV on January 5, 2024, in the Indian market. Bookings for the SUV are currently available for a token amount of INR 21,000. After its arrival, the EV is likely to boost the carmaker’s presence in the electric vehicle segment. The carmaker already holds around 85 percent of the market share in the EV segment.

The company is expected to launch the upcoming electric car in the Indian market in the middle of February 2024. The Punch EV is likely to be priced between INR 12 lakh and INR 14 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Punch EV Specifications

The new EV will be available in two different versions: Punch.ev and Punch.ev Long Range. It will come in five different trim options: Empowered, Smart+, Adventure, Smart, and Empowered+. The Long Range model of the EV will come in three trims: Empowered, Adventure, and Empowered+.

Tata Punch EV will come in four different exterior color options: Fearless Red Dual Tone, Daytona Grey Dual Tone, Empowered Oxide Dual Tone, Pristine White Dual Tone, and Seaweed Dual Tone.

The design of the new Tata Punch EV is similar to that of the engine-powered Punch SUV. However, the car is an EV, and it features a few design elements that make it different from the engine-powered model. The Punch EV comes with a different front fascia with a closed-off panel. The sleek LED light bar also acts as the daytime running light. It also comes with different headlamps as compared to the ICE variant.

The automaker has not shared any specific details about the features of the car, but it is built on a dedicated EV platform. It is likely to have 5G connectivity and ADAS L2+ capability. The Gen-2 Platform also enables bi-directional charging capability and therefore allows the vehicle to charge from other vehicles. The Punch EV is expected to come with over-the-air (OTA) software and cloud connectivity. Tata Punch EV comes with a claimed range of 300 km in one charge. It gets a 3.3 kW wall box charger, whereas the Long Range variant gets a 7.2 kW fast home charger.
