The company released a first set of details and a teaser image of its upcoming Nexon SUV. The car is slated to hit showrooms soon. Tata has also released engine details of the production version.

The diesel unit is an all-new, 1.5-litre (1,496cc) Revotorq engine that makes 110hp, but at a lower 3,750rpm and a potent 260Nm of torque at 1,500-2,750rpm. There will be three driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. The sole transmission on offer will be a TA6300 six-speed manual unit. The diesel may get an AMT option as well.
Both engines have been designed at Tata’s in-house facility in Pune, while suppliers like AVL, Bosch, Mahale and Honeywell contributed as well. The Nexon has a coupe-like profile and is designed based on Tata’s stylish Impact design language.
