Electric Vehicle brand Tesla’s Model X P100D towed a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at a taxiway in Melbourne Airport to set a new Guinness world record. The event was done in collaboration with Australian aircraft carrier Qantas.
The car pulled the giant aircraft almost 300m, which according to Qantas, was the first occasion that a production electric car has ever towed a passenger aircraft. The electric car maker now has a new Guinness World Record for the heaviest tow (130 tonnes) by an electric production car.
The Tesla Model X P100D’s electric motor puts out a massive 1,072Nm of torque.
The sales reports for the month of June show that India’s largest carmaker Maruti has managed to sell 8,871 units of the Vitara Brezza.
