The All-New Aprilia SR Range Launched From Rs 1.08 Lakh

The updated Aprilia SR 125 and SR 160 gets comprehensive upgrades in terms of design and features

Piaggio India has launched the updated version of Aprilia SR 125 and SR 160 in the country. The former is priced at Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom). While the latter is retailed at Rs 1.17 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new scooters can be booked at a token amount of Rs 5000. Interested buyers can get the bookings done at shop.apriliaindia.com or by directly going to the authorized dealerships. 


Talking about the updated Aprilia SR 160, it is around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the outgoing model. The scooter comes with several upgrades in terms of a redesigned front fascia. It features a new LED headlight instead of a halogen unit. In addition, it gets a new apron, a redesigned handlebar cowl, and air-scoops like recesses. The grab rails have also been redesigned. Furthermore, the seats sport a split design. The scooters now ride on CEAT tyres instead of MRF units. In terms of features, the updated scooters get a fully digital instrument cluster that have been borrowed from the SXR 160. Now the rider can access information like trip readouts, speed data, tachometer, and fuel consumption data.

Performance-wise, the new Aprilia SR 125 is powered by a 124.45cc, single-cylinder, 3-valve engine that churns out a top power of 9.78 bhp and a peak torque of 9.70 Nm. The updated Aprilia SR 160, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 160.03cc engine that generates 10.86 bhp power and 11.6 Nm peak torque. 

Looking at the current price, we could say that the new Aprilia SR 125 is around Rs 13000 more expensive than the outgoing model. Whereas the updated SR 160 is Rs 12000 costlier than the outgoing Aprilia SR 160
