Maruti intends to launch its all-New Ertiga MPV sometime in August this year. The second-
generation Ertiga, which is codenamed YHA, is currently being tested on Indian roads. From spy
pictures of the cleverly disguised car, you can tell that it’s longer and slightly wider than the outgoing
model. Maruti would have increased the car’s dimensions to make it even more practical and
competitive.
The same 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines will most probably be carried forward, but
Maruti is also currently developing an in-house 1.5-litre diesel that could be introduced later in the
car’s life cycle. The next-gen Ertiga will have to compete with the upcoming Mahindra U321 MPV,
which will be unveiled soon as well.
