The car is powered by a 253hp version of EA888 turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine.

The second-generation Audi S1 will be shown late next year. The company’s EA888 turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine in this car makes 253hp and has 4WD traction.

The car takes a claimed 5.9sec to hit 100kph. The company says that the new platform is stronger than the old car’s PQ25 underpinning. The company has yet to officially announce the next S1 but when they do, it will work effectively as a halo product to lure younger buyers to the brand.

The A1 already looks quite sporty, even in its standard kit. The A1's exterior designer, Jürgen Löffler said Audi’s rallying heritage inspired the look of its new supermini.
