Maruti Alto is India’s most affordable CNG car. Its simplistic design, decent interior cabin, and value-for-money quotient attract numerous customers. If we talk about the CNG model then it is available with the mid Lxi trim. The Alto CNG comes with a special forced CNG mode that allows the car to start directly on the CNG. Under the bonnet, it is powered by a 0.8L motor that churns out 40 bhp power and 60 Nm peak torque while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG tank capacity here is 60L. It further delivers an average mileage of 31.59 km/kg. Performance-wise, Maruti S-Presso S-CNG is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre petrol engine linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. With the introduction of Celerio in the Indian market, Maruti has filled a void for consumers who prefer a more conventional hatchback design. Under the bonnet, the Celerio CNG variant comes with a 1.0-litre K-Series engine that churns out 58 bhp power and 90 Nm torque. The transmission option includes a manual unit. Furthermore, the VXi CNG variant comes with a sufficient tank capacity of 60L. Also, it returns a certified mileage of 30.48 km/kg.

The former is priced at Rs 5.87 lakhs and the latter is retailed at Rs 5.99 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). The model comes with a modern design and a sporty stance. Both CNG variants feature the same equipment list as the standard model. Performance-wise, the two CNG variants are powered by a 1.1-litre four-pot petrol unit that produces 60 bhp power and 85 Nm peak torque. The transmission option for both variants is a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG tank capacity here is 60L. The CNG variants deliver an impressive mileage of 30.48 km/kg.
