Toyota Fortuner Legender spied undisguised ahead of its official launch

Toyota Kirloskar Motors is gearing up to launch the Fortuner Legender in India next month. Ahead of the official launch, the premium SUV has been spied undisguised in Bangalore while it was out for a TVC shoot. Spy images of the same have been leaked online. The new Toyota Fortuner Legender will be positioned above the standard SUV model. Furthermore, the SUV will feature subtle cosmetics updates, additional features, and a more powerful engine. We can expect the upcoming Legender SUV to be slightly premium over the standard Fortuner model. Its starting price is likely to be Rs 40 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The spy images reveal that the Fortuner Legender SUV will feature an aggressive and bold look in comparison to the standard model. The front fascia will boast of a sleek grille split in half with the Toyota logo on top. In addition, it will provide a new set of LED headlamps, a large air intake, and a revised bumper design. The four-wheeler will get large 20-inch wheels instead of 18-inch as seen on the standard model. The rear end of the SUV will cater to wrap around LED taillights and black cladding all around.

The cabin of the new Legender will boast of a sporty theme. Toyota will equip the SUV with a plethora of features. These would include a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, multi-functional steering wheel among others. The top-end variant might get additional equipment like radar-guided cruise control, lane departure warning system, and a Hilux-like wheel orientation sensor for off-road driving.

Under the bonnet, the upcoming Toyota Fortuner Legender is expected to be powered by the same 2.8-litre diesel engine. The updated engine will be tuned to deliver a maximum power of 204 bhp and a peak torque of 500 Nm while being linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
