Toyota Fortuner TRD is available in two trims: 4x2 AT diesel and 4x4 AT diesel

Toyota India has launched the Fortuner TRD limited edition at a starting price of Rs 34.98 Lakhs (Ex-showroom India, except Kerala) in the country. Specially designed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) for India, it is available in two trims: 4x2 AT diesel and 4x4 AT diesel. The latter costs Rs 38.66 Lakhs. The limited edition SUV comes in dual-tone Pearl white color along with a dual-tone dashboard. Toyota Fortuner TRD Edition bookings are open from today across all the company authorized dealerships in India. Toyota Fortuner has been in India for more than 11 years now as it was firstly introduced in 2009.
 
Some peculiar glimpses of the TRD edition are visible in the exterior as well in the form of TRD radiator grille garnish upfront and rear bumper spoiler which flaunts the iconic red TRD logo. Riding on 18-inch rugged charcoal black TRD alloy wheels, Toyota Fortuner TRD has been equipped with a plethora of high-tech optional accessories under Special Technology Package which includes ‘Head up Display (HUD), Tyre Pressure monitor (TPMS), Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Wireless Smartphone Charger and Welcome door lamp. The limited edition SUV debuts Toyota's Air Ionizer feature in the Indian market. Other highlights of the Fortuner TRD include 360 Panoramic View Monitor, Auto fold ORVM and Illuminated scuffle plate as standard features.

As for safety, it comes with 7 airbags, ISOFIX with Tether Anchor on 2nd Row, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), ABS with EBD and Speed Auto Lock with Emergency Unlock. Under the bonnet, Toyota Fortuner TRD has the tried and trusted 2.8L 4-cylinder diesel engine which generates top power of 174bhp at 3400rpm and peak torque of 450Nm between 1600-2400rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential & paddle shift. The company has also offered the automatic idling Stop/Start Function with the limited edition SUV. Toyota Fortuner is locally produced at the Japanese automaker's production facility in Bidadi, Karnataka while it rivals the likes of Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4 in the Indian market.
