The Supra is being developed side-by-side with BMW’s new Z4. The car will be powered by a 340hp motor and both have been spotted being tested in camouflage.
The GR Supra Racing Concept was shown at the Geneva motor show. Toyota Gazoo Racing, the firm’s motorsport division made this car using "advanced lightweight materials", especially in areas like the large rear wing, front and rear bumpers and diffusers, and side skirts. Even the windows are made from plastic to reduce overall weight.
The technicalities of the car haven’t been revealed yet, but the company says it will be "fun to drive". On the inside, there will be a racing dashboard and seats, and a quick-release steering wheel, paddle shifts and a full roll cage. The racing livery features the number 90, which is a historical reference to the Supra's codename. The first Supra was launched in 1978.
