Next-Generation Toyota Harrier images leaked before Japan debut.

2020 isn’t panning out as expected for the Automobile industry with the Coronavirus outbreak across the world. Amidst the bleak scenario, a hint of light has come in the form of leaked images of the 2020 Toyota Harrier. These images have surfaced at the Worldscoop online forum of the Toyota Harrier which is sold in Japan as well as some other Asian countries. Leaked images confirm the long-held suspicion that 2020 Toyota Harrier will have a major design overhaul. Toyota Harrier is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform underpinning other Toyota models like the Camry, RAV4 and Avalon.

Upfront, the SUV comes with a sleek chrome grille, edgy LED headlamps and redesigned LED DRLs with dual branches imitating the new Avalon sedan. If we look towards the rear of the SUV, then one would find thin taillights and an LED light bar running across the tailgate. Speaking about the interior, it is believed to offer an integrated dashcam with a rearview mirror, an electrochromic sunroof, coloured MID with Optitron meter, smart start and entry system, electrochromic rearview mirror with auto-dimming, premium Nappa leather seats among many others.

Toyota Harrier will provide safety features like SRS airbags, ABS, front and rear sensors, brake assistant and dynamic radar cruise control. If we talk about the powertrains options,  fourth-generation Toyota Harrier will be powered by M20A 2.0 litre direct-injected Dynamic Force engine churning out  170 bhp and 203 Nm of peak torque line in the one in RAV4. A possibility of a hybrid model could also be on the cards which would feature a 2.5-litre version of the engine mated to electric motors. The combined power of both would stand at 208bhp which is similar to the powertrain found in the Camry Hybrid.

Toyota Harrier Back Side

Toyota would debut its vehicle in Japan before launching it in the other Asian markets. The company hasn’t revealed anything about the launch date due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. From 1998 to 2013, Japanese automaker sold the Harrier as Lexus RX outside of Japan. In its 4th generation avatar, Lexus RX is now sold as a unique product by Toyota.
