2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift India launch is likely to take place early next year

Toyota Kirloskar Motors launched the first generation Innova MPV 11 years ago. Following this in 2016, the company launched the second-generation Innova with the name Crysta. Even after four-years since its launch, the MPV has been performing quite well in the domestic market. Now, the company is planning to give another update to the MPV. The 2021 Innova Crysta facelift has already started testing in the global market. It will first be launched in Indonesia where the dealer dispatch has already commenced. The India launch is expected to take place sometime next year. Recently, the brochure of the upcoming Innova Crysta facelift was leaked online. The model in the brochure is seen in a white color scheme. We can expect the India-spec model to be similar to the one seen in the brochure.

As per the leaked brochure images, the 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift will get a refreshed front fascia. The MPV retains the hexagonal grille design. It will get revised slats with chrome surrounds along with a new front bumper design and fog lamps. The Toyota badge has been removed. In addition, it will also feature new LED projector headlamps. The images also reveal that the Innova Crysta facelift will get new alloy wheels either in standard silver color or a darker finish. The rear end remains unchanged. The MPV is seen with wrap-around LED tail-lamps.

The cabin of the 2021 Innova Crysta facelift will get subtle revisions. From the leaked images, it is clear that the MPV will get a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also likely to get updated upholstery. Furthermore, we can expect the MPV to get a host of features. These include wireless charging, 360-degree camera, park assist among others in top-end variants.

Under the bonnet, the upcoming 2021 Innova Crysta facelift will see no change in the engine options. The facelifted MPV will draw its power from both petrol and diesel engines. There will be a 2.7-litre petrol unit that dishes out 166 bhp power and 245 Nm torque while a 2.4-litre diesel engine will generate 150 bhp power. As for torque output, it will develop a 343 Nm torque with a manual gearbox and 360 Nm torque with an automatic gearbox. Both the engines will be offered with a manual and an automatic gearbox option.

The upcoming 2021 Innova Crysta facelift will be priced slightly higher than its predecessor. Currently, the Toyota Innova Crysta petrol variant price is in the range of Rs 15.66-21.78 Lakhs (ex-showroom) while the diesel variants fall in the price bracket of Rs 16.44-23.63 lakhs (ex-showroom).
