The updated Innova Hycross MPV was launched in the country in November 2022.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced that its Innova Hycross MPV has achieved a sales milestone of 50,000 units in the Indian market. The MPV set foot in India as the third-generation variant of Toyota’s popular MPV. The updated Hycross MPV was launched in the country in November 2022, and in the last fourteen months, it has garnered attention from many buyers who are looking to buy a hybrid MPV.

In the Indian market, the Innova Hycross MPV is priced between INR 19.77 lakh and INR 30.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company attributed the MPV's success to its excellent warranty and service. The Innova nameplate is well-known in the automotive industry for its low total cost of ownership (TCO), making it a popular choice among both commercial and private buyers.

The MPV is available in five trims: VX, GX, ZX, VX (O), and ZX (O). It comes with the option of a seven- or eight-seat configuration. The car has a 3-year warranty, and it can be extended for 5 years. Toyota also provides attractive finance schemes and complimentary roadside assistance to its customers.

The Vice President (Sales and Marketing) at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Sabari Manohar, commented on the success and said, “We are thrilled that the Innova Hycross has achieved 50,000 units sales milestone within a short span of fourteen months from launch. We are extremely thankful for the response and confidence entrusted by our customers in this product. Innova HyCross was a success right from the day of its launch and the product has seen strong customer acceptance from our target audience. With its launch, the Innova Hycross has revolutionised the idea of comfort, convenience, performance, and safety within the MUV segment. Moreover, we are immensely proud of the Innova Hycross for carrying forward the cult legacy of the Innova brand. We are confident that the HyCross will continue to garner affection from customers and will consistently redefine the mobility experience through its exceptional performance."

The Hycross MPV is based on the new TNGA platform. Instead of the previous ladder-on-frame construction, the MPV now has a monocoque body. It is loaded with advanced features, including double-zone climate control, segment-first paddle shifters, an electrically operable tailgate, LED DRLs, and ventilated front seats. The most significant update in the new-generation Innova Hycross is the absence of a diesel powertrain for a robust hybrid engine. Under the Toyota-Suzuki partnership, the robust hybrid version is being rebadged and retailed as the Suzuki Invicto.

Powering the Hycross is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder motor that is mated to an electric motor. The engine churns out 183 bhp of power. Toyota also sells a petrol-only version of the car. The petrol-powered MPV comes equipped with a 2.0-litre, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that generates 170 bhp of power and 205 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic unit. The petrol-only version gets a certified fuel efficiency of 16.13 kmpl (ARAI certified).
