The race-influenced concept has tech from Toyota’s Le Mans programme.

Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s performance arm, will show its GR Super Sport Concept at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2018. The model features tech from Toyota’s Le Mans programme.

The car could feature a hybrid powertrain, much like the one used on the team’s World Endurance Championship TS050 Hybrid.

The teaser image shows a very sleek race-car-like silhouette. The WEC racer uses a 2.4-litre V6 petrol engine with electric motors to make a mammoth 1,000hp, that powers all four wheels. Toyota Gazoo intends to introduce more road-going high-performance cars in the future.

The Japanese brand will also display its range of motorsport models at the Tokyo show.
