The facelift will use the same line-up of engines on the current car. Dealerships have begun accepted bookings.

Dealerships in the country are expecting the car to be launched on March 15th, though nothing has been confirmed yet. They are accepting bookings for the sedan however. Styling remain largely the same but a few tweaks have given it a much sharper and sleeker look. The front follows Toyota’s new design language - with dapper headlamps and a narrower grille. LED head and rear lamps have been added, similar to the Fortuner’s.

The revised interior comes with a larger infotainment screen, revised layouts for the dashboard and central console and soft-touch surfaces. The engines remain the same - there's the 140hp, 1.8-litre petrol and a 88hp, 1.4-litre diesel.

It remains to see how market demand changes with this new update for the car. It faces stiff competition from the likes of Hyundai’s Elantra and Skoda’s Octavia.
