Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV arrives in India to rival Mercedes V-Class.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has big plans for the luxury MPV segment with the launch of Vellfire today. Toyota Vellfire is priced at Rs 79.50 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, pan-India except Kerala) while it will compete against Mercedes V-Class in the luxury MPV segment. It will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) into India and be offered in an Executive Lounge variant. Toyota Vellfire is already selling in a number of South Asian countries and shares underpinnings with the Toyota Alphard. 


The Vellfire will come in a single hybrid powertrain option and has a boxy design with a tall stance. The leather interior reflects the luxury in its pure form with the middle row of seats having power reclining function and an electronic footrest. Want to have different seating arrangements? Vellfire MPV allows you to access the different seating configurations at the touch of a button. The luxury is the running theme across the Toyota Vellfire MPV with ventilated seats and you can heat up the seats in case you are feeling cold. Vellfire is equipped with features like a 13-inch touchscreen unit that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 17-speaker JBL sound system, cruise control, dual sunroof to enrich your traveling. 


Toyota Velfire MPV weighs three tonnes while measuring 5 metres in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,895 mm in height. Toyota Vellfire MPV is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine generating the maximum power of  87 bhp and a peak torque output of 198 Nm with an ARAI-rated 16.35kmpl fuel efficiency. Vellfire has two electric motors at both front and rear, generating a combined power output of 196 bhp. The motor is coupled to an e-CVT unit transmitting power to the front wheels with the Vellfire equipped with 4WD to help it stable when driving at high speeds. Toyota Vellfire comes with a host of safety features such as 7 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, Electric Stability Control, Tyre pressure monitor. 


Toyota also announced that the customers in Hyderabad account for over 20 percent of the total 180 bookings made so far. Toyota has allocated around 60 units of Vellfire MPV each month for India.
