All-Black Toyota Yaris arriving in the Indian market soon; expect it to be a limited edition

Toyota Yaris Black Edition is coming soon to the Indian market with the launch just around the corner. Recently, Toyota India released teasers of the Yaris Black Edition on its social media channels. Dealerships are not accepting orders for the premium sedan currently but expect it to change in the coming days. As it’s a special edition, expect a limited number of units arriving in the Indian market. The all-black Yaris comes with a host of cosmetic updates in the design and styling with some new features. The company hasn’t revealed any specs so far concerning the new model but the released images do drop some hints. The launch of the new model would boost Toyota’s presence in the C-segment of sedans. The main rivals of Toyota Yaris are Skoda Rapid, New-Gen Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. The price will be slightly premium than the base variant of the sedan which retails currently at 8.86 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India). Expect it to be priced around Rs 9.10 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India).

The limited-edition sedan comes in all-black colour scheme making it visually appealing. There are chrome elements on the headlights and tail lamps and we can also expect light strips around the front door cards. The car will come with new alloy wheels which are different from the standard model.

The Yaris Black Edition will be powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine. It will belt out 105 bhp of power and 140 Nm of peak torque. Expected transmission options would be the 6-speed manual and a 7-speed continuously variable transmission. Fuel economies would remain unchanged as there are no tweaks in the engine set-up. Toyota Yaris Black Edition mileage would be 17.18 kmpl for manual and 18.10 kmpl for the automatic transmission.

Safety features onboard will include seven airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking systems) with Electronic brakeforce distribution, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse camera, Vehicle Stability Control and Hill Start Assist.
