Toyota Yaris Cross measures 4180mm in length while having the identical wheelbase of 2560mm as the latest model of Yaris hatchback. As far as styling goes, it adorns Toyota signature SUV design along with some inspiration taken from the recent company SUVs such as C-HR and Harrier. Besides the higher ground clearance, it also flaunts chunky wheel arches which further bolden its stance. It has been learnt that the top-end variants will ride on 18-inch alloy wheels while getting a few unique paint schemes. The cabin will come loaded with a plethora of bells and whistles in the form of ambient lighting, split-folding rear seats and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment screen. A lot of features will be borrowed from the European model of Yaris hatch.

Under the hood, Toyota Yaris Cross will come with a petrol hybrid powertrain setup. There will be a 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol engine on offer with an electric motor. They deliver a combined power output of 116bhp. The petrol engine can work upto the thermal efficiency of 40 percent while sending power to the front wheels of the SUV but once the sensors detect a poor grip, the all-wheel-drive system automatically gets activated at terrains such as snow, sand and rain. Toyota Yaris Cross production will take place in France with sales commencing in Europe firstly. It will challenge the likes of Nissan Juke and Renault Captur in the European markets. As far as India is concerned, it seems highly unlikely to debut here.
