Renault Triber Booking Date Announced Ahead of 28 August Launch

released explaining the features of the MPV. The company is aiming to start an entire new segment with their Triber in the Indian market. Now the company has started the production of the Triber MPV at their factory in Chennai. The launch of the latest MPV from the company is scheduled to take place on 28 August, 2019. The bookings for the MPV will start from 17 August ahead of the launch and the booking amount for the MPV will be Rs. 11,000. The new Renault Triber is based on the modified iteration of CMF-A platform. CMF-A (common module family-A) is the affordable platform that the French company came up with for developing markets. The Kwid from the company is also based on the same platform. However, Triber MPV is quite large as compared to the Kwid and comes with the capacity to seat 7 people. Nonetheless, the Triber also is smaller than 4 metres. The sub-4 metre length of the Triber ensures that it will benefit from the tax regime of the country and hence will fit the budget of many hatchback buyers in the Indian market.

Speaking about the latest offering -- Triber MPV -- from the brand, the CEO and MD of India operations of Renault, Venkatram Mamillapalle stated,

India is a key market for Groupe Renault. We have a clear objective and strategy to accelerate our expansion in India, by doubling the sales volume to 200,000 units annually over the next three years. Renault TRIBER will play an important role in our expansion plans and will set new benchmarks in terms of space and modularity. Renault TRIBER is targeted at a wide set of customers across segments, led by the B-segment. Renault TRIBER brings to the fore the expertise of our thorough customer understanding, ingenious engineering capability, deep design expertise and strong manufacturing competencies. Renault TRIBER offers Renault’s contemporary design, modern features, unmatched space, roominess and versatility. With the opening of bookings today, we look forward to welcoming more customers to the Renault family.

Renault Triber will be a petrol only car in the Indian market but the company has not fully revealed the engine details of the car as of now. However, the Triber will come with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The output for the petrol engine could be in the range of 72 Bhp and 96 Nm. The AMT version of this upcoming MPV has also been spotted testing, therefore an AMT is sure to be offered with the car along with a manual gearbox. However, the company has not confirmed the same as of now. Triber will also be light at under a 1,000 kgs and this will help the MPV remain peppy despite using the smaller engine. Not to mention that the mileage of the MPV will also be on the high side due to lower weight.

Triber's dash comes with an all-digital instrument cluster, central air conditioning system, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and more. The Triber also gets class-leading headroom and boot space without the third-row in place. The French automaker is likely to price the MPV in the very affordable Rs. 5-7 lakh mark, affordable for the MPV segment at least. With this new launch the company is looking at starting a new segment in the country because at the aforementioned price point, the Triber will be a unique offering in the market that will come in the price range of a mid-size hatchback but it will also offer seating for 7 and a lot of storage space if the seating is modified for 5 users.
