Triumph Trident 660 is all set to launch next year in India

Triumph Motorcycles has finally revealed its upcoming entry-level, sport naked, the Trident 660 today. The company had earlier teased the prototype back in August this year. It further confirms that the new Trident 660 will be launched in India as a CKD next year. The price of the bike has not been revealed yet. However, we can expect the price to be around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom).

In terms of design, the Trident 660 gets a round-shaped LED headlamp with Triumph logo in the centre. In addition, it also provides slim LED indicators. The prominent radiator grille, short step-up saddle, and a low underslung exhaust give an aggressive look to the motorcycle. Other design highlights include five-spoke alloy wheels, LED tail-lights, body-colored radiator cowl, and tear-drop shaped mirrors.

As for features, the new Trident 660 comes equipped with a fully-digital instrument cluster that displays information such as speed, tachometer, gear-position indicator, and a fuel gauge. Furthermore, the bike also caters two riding modes namely Road and Rain. Other equipment highlights include a switchable traction control system and ride-by-wire for precise throttle response. The bike does not get MyTriumph Connectivity as a standard suite. However, the customer can opt for it at a premium.

The British manufacturer has further confirmed that the Trident 660 gets an all-new 660cc, triple-cylinder engine that churns out 80 bhp @10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque @6.250 rpm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch. Suspension duties are handled by black Shova inverted forks upfront and Shova pre-load adjustable mono-shock towards the rear. In terms of brakes, the bike gets twin-piston Nissin front calipers with twin 310mm discs and a single-piston Nissin caliper with 255mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS. Furthermore, the tubular steel frame helps to keep the kerb-weight down to 189 kgs. Apart from these, Triumph has further confirmed that Trident 660 will get Michelin Road 5 tyres.

The motorcycle is offered in four striking colour schemes namely Silver Ice & Diablo Red, Matte Jet Black & Matte Silver Ice, Crystal White, and Sapphire Black. In the global market, the Trident 660 rival the likes of Kawasaki Z650, Yamaha MT-07, and Honda CB650.
