The government is implementing the new safety regulations for cars and bikes starting 1st April 2019. The regulations for bikes says that motorcycles less than 125cc of capacity to come with CBS as mandatory feature and those above 125cc should get ABS as mandatory. TVS Motor Company has now introduced ABS with the Apache RTR 160.
Recently, the Indian motorcycle maker introduced ABS for the Apache RTR 160 4V and now they have added ABS to the carburetted version of the motorcycle. The TVS Apache RTR 160 ABS is priced at Rs. 84,710/- for the front disc and Rs. 87,719/- (all prices ex-showroom) for the rear disc version. It is Rs. 6000/- more expensive than the regular non-ABS version.
TVS has updated the bike with a single-channel ABS. There are no other visual or mechanical changes done to the bike. The TVS Apache RTR 160 ABS is powered by a 160cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power output of 15 HP at 8500 RPM and a peak torque output of 13 Nm at 6000 RPM. This engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Tata recently launched a teaser video of its premium hatchback named Tata Altroz. The premium hatchback is slated for a launch in January 2020.
