TVS Motor Company launches a new variant of Apache RTR 200 4V with Super Moto ABS in the Indian market

TVS Motor Company has launched a new variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V in the Indian market. This new variant comes equipped with Super Moto ABS. It is priced at Rs 1.23 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the SuperMoto ABS, it allows the rider to lock the rear wheel under hard braking. This further gives the bike the formidable stopping power and amazing brake control with which one can easily slide the bike across a race track. The new variant with Super Moto ABS or single-channel ABS is Rs 3000 cheaper than the standard version that comes with dual-channel ABS.

In terms of features, the motorcycle continues to get an all-LED headlamp with claw-shaped position lamps. Other design highlights include feather touch start and rear-wheel lift-off protection among others. The race-tuned slipper clutch ensures rider safety at high speed downshifts along with improved vehicle stability. The bike also gets Bluetooth enabled LCD instrument cluster compatible with TVS’s ‘SmartXConnect Technology’. With the help of this technology, one can easily access information such as turn-by-turn navigation and race telemetry. Also, the system displays an incoming call or SMS on the console when the smartphone is connected to it.

Mechanically, no changes have been made. The Apache RTR 200 4V Supermoto ABS continues to draw power from a 197.75cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve, oil-cooled engine with fuel injection (RT-Fi). The RT-Fi Technology offers improved engine durability and better emission control. This engine churns out a maximum power of 20.2 bhp @ 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 16.8 Nm @ 7500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the motorcycle also offers Glide Through Technology (GTT) for a smooth city ride.

The Apache RTR 200 4V Supermoto ABS gets the same suspension setup as the BS4 model. Thus the bike gets telescopic forks up front and a KYB mono-shock setup towards the rear. The new variant is available in two color options namely Pearl White and Gloss Black.
