Uber inaugurated its electric auto rickshaw fleet service in the temple town of Ayodhya with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. Uber, a ride-hailing service provider, has started its EV auto service in Ayodhya under its famous category, Uber Auto. After introducing the electric rickshaw service, Uber India is also planning to commence operations of UberGo in Ayodhya, beside Uber Intercity.
UberGo is the company’s most affordable automobile product other than Uber Intercity. These services aim to fulfill all inter-city commuting needs to the temple town of Ayodhya from famous destinations within UP.
The company claims that its service expansion into the city aligns with its growth plans in the country and builds on its 'India to Bharat' strategy, which intends to increase the ride-hailing company's product offerings to several regional markets.

The President of Uber India and South Asia, Prabhjeet Singh, spoke about the new launch service in the city and stated that “We are excited to expand our services to Ayodhya as it emerges on the travel map of millions. With this expansion, we are not only providing enhanced mobility options for tourists and pilgrims but also unlocking earning opportunities for many more in the region. We are committed to contributing to the city’s tourism, promoting a seamless travel experience and fostering sustainable economic growth."
The company unveiled its pure EV ride-hailing service, Uber Green, in India last year. Uber teamed up with its fleet partners, incorporating Everest Fleet, Moove, and Lithium Urban Technologies, to deploy almost 25,000 electric cars in India in the upcoming three years. As of now, the ride-hailing service provider offers its cab services in 125 cities across the country, including towns and lower-tier cities.
