Upcoming Royal Enfield bikes in 2020-2021 for the Indian market

Royal Enfield Motorcycles has been working on a number of models lately. We have even snapped quite a few of them undergoing test runs. While we are aware that the company is all set to launch its much-awaited Meteor 350 towards the end of this month, there is a BS6 update that is due on the Classic 350. Here is the list of the upcoming Royal Enfield Motorcycles all set to be introduced during 2020 and 2021.

Royal Enfield Cruiser 650

After the launch of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, Royal Enfield is planning to launch a 650cc cruiser motorcycle. The bike has been snapped doing test runs on multiple occasions. The motorcycle is likely to be based on the KX Bobber Concept that was showcased at EICMA in the year 2018. From the spy images, the bike is likely to get a simple, round-shaped headlight unit that it gives a retro-look. Furthermore, it will sport a round-shaped tail-light along with round turn indicators at the bottom of the rear fender. Other features as seen in the images include upside-down forks up front, instrument cluster with twin dials where the larger pod will be reserved for the speedometer, tachometer, and trip details while the smaller one will feature a navigation system. Mechanically, it will be powered by a 650cc twin-cylinder engine that also powers the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be launched towards the end of this month. The motorcycle will be replacing the BS4 compliant Thunderbird 350 siblings, now discontinued. It is likely to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom) when launched in the country.  It will be offered in three variants namely Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova. The new Meteor 350 will feature a round-shaped halogen headlamp with LED DRLs upfront. At the rear, it will get round-shaped tail-light and indicators thus giving a vintage appeal to the bike. Other notable features will include a twin-pod instrument panel, a split seat setup, alloy wheels among others. Mechanically, the bike will be powered by a new 350cc single-cylinder, air-cooled long stroke motor. The engine will come equipped with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and an electronic fuel-injection system. It will deliver 20.2 bhp power and 27 Nm torque while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties will be taken care of by telescopic forks upfront and two-gas charged shock absorbers towards the rear. As for brakes, the bike will get discs in the front and the rear along with dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield Classic 350

Royal Enfield has been working on the next-gen Classic 350 for quite some time. The new Classic 350 is similar to the current model in terms of design and features. The bike will retain features such as a round-shaped headlight, teardrop fuel tank, chrome-plated rear-view mirrors, retro-styled blinkers and fenders from its predecessor. The motorcycle will see a change in the engine specifications. It is likely to get a new 350cc engine, gearbox, double-cradle chassis, and frame. Not many details have been revealed yet. But we can expect the engine to come equipped with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC). As for the suspension and braking setup, they remain unchanged. The bike will get conventional telescopic forks upfront and twin shock absorber towards the rear. Furthermore, it will get a disc brake in the front and a drum brake at the rear along with single-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield Hunter

Royal Enfield is planning to give a makeover to one of its oldest bikes. The company had trademarked the name ‘Hunter’ towards the end of 2019. Hunter has been spotted doing the test runs quite a few times in the past. Spy shots of the bike have also been leaked online. We can expect the Hunter to be one of the most affordable motorcycles from the brand. The spy shots revealed that the bike will get an upright seating position similar to the one present in Interceptor 650. Other features as seen in this image include a semi-digital single pod instrument console, a large headlamp and an LED tail-lamp flanked by halogen turn signals. Its engine specifications have not been revealed yet. However, we can expect it to get the same 350cc unit which will provided in the Meteor 350.
