Tata Motors has been one of the most trusted names in the automobile sector in India. The homegrown automaker has delivered some of the safest cars in the country. The brand also ensures that its models are reasonably priced so that customers looking to buy a durable product are able to save some cash in the process. Tata is now prepping to launch a few more models in Indian market. Here is a list of top 3 products that are expected to be launched soon in the country.
Tata Motors is expected to launch its sub-4-meter SUV, Hornbill by May 2021. The mini SUV has been spied doing test runs quite a few times in the past. It will be based on the Tata HBX Concept that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. Furthermore, the upcoming Hornbill will feature Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language. Cosmetically, the upcoming Hornbill will provide Tata’s signature tri-arrow design on the air dam and its ‘Humanity Line’ front grille. In terms of interior equipment, it will come equipped with advanced comfort, connectivity, and safety features. Performance-wise, the mini SUV is likely to draw power from a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine that will generate 86 bhp power. The top-end variants might get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor. As for transmission options, it might offer a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Tata Gravitas was also showcased during the Auto Expo this year. Recently, the homegrown automaker had revealed that the Gravitas will hit the road early next year. It is basically a longer version of the popular Harrier SUV. The SUV will be based on the same platform as its sibling, the OMEGARC, which is derived from Land Rover’s D8 platform. The front fascia of the SUV looks similar to the Harrier. However, subtle changes have been made on the rear end. The SUV gets longer rear overhang and a stepped roof to accommodate the third row. It will also get unique alloy wheel designs and colour palettes to differentiate it further from the Harrier. Under the bonnet, the 7-seater SUV will be powered by the same BS6-compliant 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo diesel engine as the Harrier. This engine will generate 170 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. Furthermore, it will be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearboxes.
After the success of Tata Altroz premium hatchback, the manufacturer is now prepping to launch the electric version of the vehicle towards the end of this year. The Altroz EV will be the third electric car from Tata Motors. We can expect it to be priced between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be the first Alfa-Arc platform electric vehicle. Furthermore, it will feature the Ziptron electric vehicle technology, which comprises a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) and a lithium-ion battery pack with IP67 dust and waterproof rating. The lithium-ion battery pack has a ‘target range’ of 250kms to 300kms, and can be charged to 80 percent in just 60 minutes with the help of a DC fast charger. In terms of design, it will not look too different from the standard model. Additional design bits include a concealed grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, and star patterns on the front air dam. Inside the cabin, Altroz EV will get a redesigned dashboard. The centre console will get a walk through effect. Further, the parking brake and the driver selector will be integrated into the centre arm rest.
