The German carmaker, Volkswagen has introduced a new variant for the Golf. The Volkswagen Golf Match Edition is the new entrant in the Golf lineup for the UK market that has replaced two variants - SE and SE Nav trim levels. The new Match Edition Golf is being offered in all hatchback, estate and SV body styles.
The Volkswagen Golf Match Edition comes with a starting price of 20,510 Euros (Rs. 16.47 lakhs). Volkswagen believes that the new Match Edition provides considerable savings over the SE and SE Nav trims. This new variant comes with 16-inch ‘Woodstock’ alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, front fog lights and Discover Navigation as standard fitment.
The new trim of Golf comes with four engine options including 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engines and 1.6-litre TDI and 2.0-litre TDI turbo diesel engines. Volkswagen has not introduced the Golf hatchback in India since it is a big car and won't be feasible for the Indian market as the taxes are quite high.
