Volkswagen reveals power banks for EVs that will get mass produced in 2020.

Ahead of the launch of the ID electric vehicle lineup of Volkswagen, the German automaker has come up with a unique concept of power banks for electric vehicles. With a capacity of 360 kWh, the mobile charging station is capable of charging 15 electric vehicles when it's fully charged.

At one mobile charging station, four cars can be charged simultaneously, two with AC and two with DC connectors. The power banks can also be connected to the power supply directly. The German automaker is also looking at the possibility of charging the station with wind energy and solar energy.

The first lot of quick mobile charging stations will be set in Germany in the first half of 2019. While the rest of the locations will be added gradually and mass production is set to begin in 2020. At that time, the German carmaker will introduce a range of new electric vehicles and they are readying their infrastructure of EVs ahead of the launch.
