The sketches show no controls on the inside.

Volkswagen has shown, in a series of sketches, its ID Vizzion. The car will be officially unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March. This sedan is a follow up to the ID hatchback, ID Crozz SUV and ID Buzz Microbus concepts which the company has shown in the past.

The sedan is claimed to be able to make 301hp and can hit 180kph. It is powered by a 111kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can take it up to 665 miles, combined with regenerative braking. VW calls the ID Vizzion a premium sedan, and it could eventually go on to replace the ageing Phaeton.

This is the first of its kind in the ID range without driver controls. On the inside, there are four seats, with no pedals, steering wheel or infotainment for the driver or front-seat passenger. This is officially the first fully autonomous model VW has shown, it promises Level 5 autonomy. The ID Vizzion has a voice and gesture-controlled ‘host’, with displays that could be incorporated into the windows.

VW said the ID hatch will enter production at the end of 2019.
