Volkswagen T-Roc Launched at Rs 19.99 Lakhs

2020 Volkswagen T-Roc is available in a single fully-loaded trim while it will be sold via CBU route.

Volkswagen India has launched the T-Roc SUV today at an introductory price of Rs 19.99 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) in the country. It is the company’s second SUV launch in India. Volkswagen T-Roc launch took place digitally due to the current coronavirus outbreak. Showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo last month, the premium midsize SUV has been introduced in the petrol trim with a BS6 compliant engine. It will compete against the likes of Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier. VW T-Roc has been imported to India via the CBU route under the 2500 cars import rule. The bookings for the SUV had already commenced in February and It has raked in over 500 bookings so far.

Mechanically, Volkswagen T-Roc is powered by a 1.5-litre TSI Evo Turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine churning out 148 bhp of power output and 250 Nm of torque performance. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard with no 4Motion AWD system.

In dimensions, the compact SUV measures 4234 mm in length, 1819 mm in width along with a wheelbase of 2590 mm. Built on the versatile MQB platform, the 2020 Volkswagen T-Roc flaunts a progressive design language with a coupe-style dual-tone roof and a distinctively wide front end. The twin-slat grille is flanked by LED headlamps with DRLs. The dual-tone rooftop gives it a sporty look and matches perfectly with eclectic body color. It gets a 5-spoke silver alloy wheels with black plastic cladding around the wheel arches. The rear end features wrapped around taillights with a dual-tone bumper. It is available in a total of six color options namely Curcuma Yellow, Pure White, Energetic Orange, Ravenna Blue, and Indium Grey. Out of this, five shades get a dual-tone treatment along with a blacked-out roof. The Deep Black Pearl color is a single body-color option.

Stay in sync with your SUV with App-Connect that helps you to attach your Android or Apple device to the 8-inch infotainment system that allows you to make calls and view messages, all at the touch of a button. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, reverse parking camera, and keyless entry/start.


Safety is synonymous with the German automaker. As a result, the SUV comes packed with a host of safety features. These include 6 airbags, ABS (Anti-Braking System), ESC ( Electronic Stability Control), Parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
