Volkswagen T-ROC spotted on Indian Roads ahead of its March 18th launch.

Volkswagen showcased its new compact SUV T-ROC at Auto Expo 2020. Volkswagen T-ROC launch date is March 18, 2020 and it was spotted recently on Indian roads ahead of its introduction. Volkswagen India ‘s T-ROC premium SUV will be competing against the likes of Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier. Bookings have already commenced for this SUV with the expected prices likely to be in the range of Rs 16 - Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). The T-Roc is a five-seater SUV based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform that also underpins the Tiguan.


The VW T-Roc will be imported to India via the CBU route. The official website lists out some exciting features like LED Headlamps with DRL's, Panoramic sunroof, reverse parking camera, climatronic auto AC, keyless entry and start. German Automaker focus on safety in T-ROC is evident with 6 airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The spied T-ROC visible in the images has a dual tone exterior with a chrome strip bordering its windows. The presence of 5-spoke silver alloy wheels with black cladding around the wheel arches and door sills brings out its SUV like design with the rear fesaturing wrapped taillights with a dual-tone bumper. Dimension wise, it measures 4,234 mm in length, 1,819 mm in width and 1,572 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,590 mm and offers 445 litres of boot space which can further be expanded to 1,290 litre by folding the rear seasts down. Volkswagen T-Roc will be powered by a 1.5-litre TSI-Evo turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine generating 148bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission will be a standard offering with no 4MOTION AWD system.
