Volkswagen launched the Taigun SUV last month in the country. The new SUV is offered in the price range of Rs 10.50 lakhs - Rs 17.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). The German automaker has partnered with ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services ltd to offer the new Taigun on a monthly subscription basis.
Moving on, the monthly rental of the car starts from Rs 28,000. You can easily subscribe to the car for a period 24, 36, and 48 months. Besides this, it will come with 100 percent on road financing, insurance cover, periodic maintenance, along with the option to upgrade or return the car at the end of the lease period. Volkswagen Taigun is offered in a total of two trims namely Dynamic Line and Performance Line. Having said this, customers get to choose from the Dynamic Line and the GT Plus variant of the Performance Line. The car will be available at 30 Volkswagen outlets across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. Furthermore, the car will be offered with a white number plate.
In terms of design, the Volkswagen Taigun features a twin-slat chrome grille and massive LED headlamps with LED DRLs upfront. The rear end of the vehicle boasts of an LED tail lamp cluster that runs across the entire width of the tailgate. The front and rear bumper gets chrome garnishing. Talking about the color options, the SUV is offered in Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel Grey shades.
Moving inside the cabin of the Volkswagen Taigun, it boasts of a few elements that resembles the Skoda Kushaq such as the switchgear. The feature highlights include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, & My Volkswagen connect app, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, ambient lighting among many others.
Under the hood, the VW Taigun is offered with two turbocharged petrol engines that do duty on Skoda Kushaq. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder unit churns out a top power of 115 bhp and a peak torque of 175 Nm. Transmission duty is taken care of by a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder unit, on the other hand, dishes out 150 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. This engine can be availed with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Besides this, the 1.5-litre TSI unit boasts of cylinder deactivation technology.
