Volkswagen Taigun Pre-Bookings Begin in India

Volkswagen Taigun production has commenced at the manufacturing facility in Chakan near Pune

Volkswagen India today has commenced the production of its upcoming Taigun at its manufacturing facility in Chakan near Pune. The German automaker will be launching the compact SUV in September 2021 in the country. Interested customers can now pre-book the much-awaited Taigun across Volkswagen’s online and offline retail platforms at a token amount of Rs 25,000. 




2021 Volkswagen Taigun: Design & Features

Design-wise, the Volkswagen Taigun gets bold character lines and a lot of chrome. Upfront, it features LED headlights with LED DRLs. Other design bits include LED taillights with sporty black elements, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, faux skid plates, and beefy cladding with chrome inserts. The cabin of the VW Taigun boasts of black and grey interiors. Feature-wise, the model comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a fully digital instrument cluster, flat-bottom steering wheel, rear AC vents, sunroof, among many others. In terms of safety features, the upcoming Taigun comes with 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts for all passengers, Isofix mounts, rear parking camera, and many others.

2021 Volkswagen Taigun: Engine Specifications

Performance-wise, the upcoming Taigun will come equipped with two turbocharged petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI engine is tuned to generate a top power of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 175 Nm. The motor can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre TSI unit, on the other hand, develops 148 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
