Volvo to increase production of XC40

The X40 has received more than 80,000 orders in the months since its sales launch so Volvo plans to ramp up production. In India, it could be priced somewhere around Rs 43-45 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and will compete with the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA. In the UK, the car has been getting 2000 orders per month.

In the UK, the car has been getting 2000 orders per month.

Volvo has ramped up production at its Ghent factory in Belgium and Luqiao facility in China. In the first half of 2019 is when the company is ramping up production. The car is based on the company’s Compact Modular Architecture and Volvo's first EV will be a hatchback due next year, while the second one will be an XC40 electric variant.

The new S60 is due for a global launch later this year and will be the brand’s first car to be offered without a diesel option.
