There will be only one R-Design trim on sale, powered by a 190hp, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel (D4) engine.

Volvo's smallest SUV will make it to India in July in a mid-spec R-Design trim only. At launch, it will be sold with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel (D4) engine that puts out 190hp. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the car will offer all-wheel drive as standard. After this car’s launch, Volvo will gauge feedback and decide whether or not to bring more engine options to India.

The car comes with standard features such as wireless mobile phone charging, a 750W 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 19-inch wheels, powered tailgate, and heated front and rear seats. The interior is all-black, and it features Volvo's 9.0-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There will be three dual-tone colours on sale, namely red (with a black top), blue and black (with a white top).  Like all Volvos, it will be loaded with safety tech, it even gets adaptive cruise control, oncoming lane mitigation, run-off-road mitigation and blind spot information.
