As per data from the Government of India's Vahan portal, the XC40 Recharge recorded 241 unit sales from January to June 2023, solidifying its position in the luxury EV market.
The XC40 Recharge, introduced in July 2022 and launched for deliveries in November the same year, has seen around 365 units delivered to date, as confirmed by the brand. Boasting a twin-motor setup, the pure electric SUV generates an output of 402 hp and 660 Nm of peak torque, powered by a 78 kWh battery pack with an estimated range of up to 418 km on a single charge (as per WLTP). It accelerates from 0 to 100 mph in just 4.9 seconds and can be rapidly charged from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 28 minutes using a fast charger (150KW).
For added assurance, Volvo offers a comprehensive package with a three-year warranty, three-year Volvo service package, 3-year RSA, and an 8-year battery warranty for the XC40 Recharge. Moreover, customers can benefit from a 4-year digital service subscription and receive an 11 Kw wall box charger when purchasing the locally-assembled luxury electric SUV.
Jyoti Malhotra, the Managing Director of Volvo Car India, expressed delight at the XC40 Recharge's significant market share achievement, particularly as it coincides with the first anniversary of the pure electric XC40 Recharge's launch, making it a truly memorable milestone for the brand. Furthermore, Volvo remains committed to achieving its vision of having 100 percent electrified vehicles in its portfolio by the year 2030, with the recent introduction of the C40 Recharge contributing to this ambitious goal.
