We are back with our weekly dose of Auto shots for you! This week had quite a few launches. Starting from 2020 Mahindra Thar being launched at Rs 9.80 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) to Honda Highness CB350 being introduced at an approx price of Rs 1.90 Lakhs (ex-showroom) and Renault Kwid Neotech Edition at Rs 4.29 Lakhs. For all the millenials, BMW Group India launched the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition in the Indian market while the first unit of Mahindra Thar was auctioned at a whopping Rs 1.11 Crores. Suzuki Motorcycles India launched new color options for the Gixxer 250 while interior and exterior details of the upcoming 2020 i20 hatchback were leaked. Last but not the least, Kia Sonet crossed the 35000 bookings milestone and created a new record of selling 9000+ units in just 12 days!

#1 Mahindra Thar Auctioned For Rs 1.11 Crore

Mahindra Thar was launched on October 2, 2020. But before that, the first unit of the All-New Thar was placed under an auction. This was basically done to provide aid to COVID’19 relief workers. The auction for #1 Thar commenced on the 24th of September. The final day of the auction was September 26 and the bidding crossed the Rs 1 crore mark. The winning bid for #1 Thar was Rs 1.11 crore which was placed by Delhi-based Akash Minda. Over 5400 individuals had registered for the Mahindra Thar auction. The bidding started at a reserve price of Rs 25 lakhs. Interested bidders had to bid in multiples of Rs 25,000. Akash Minda will get to choose the Thar variant and colour of his choice. Also, the #1 Thar will flaunt customized badging with his initials, serial number 1 on the VIN plate along with leatherette seats. Read More

Honda Highness CB350 Unveiled; Bookings Start at Rs 5000

Honda Motorcycle & Scooters India unveiled the all-new Highness CB350 motorcycle in the country. To be sold exclusively via the premium Honda BigWing dealer network, Honda Highness CB350 bookings started last week at the company's official website at a token amount of Rs 5,000. The launch will take place in the first half of October with price around Rs 1.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). The cruiser motorcycle has been introduced in two variants - Deluxe and Deluxe Pro - while it will take on the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Jawa. Honda Highness CB350 production will start at Manesar plant with 90 percent local content. The bike will be available for touch and feel at four major Honda BigWing showrooms: Gurgaon, Mumbai, Benagluru and Cochin. Read More

Renault Kwid Neotech Limited Edition Launched at Rs 4.29 lakhs

Renault India launched the Kwid Neotech Edition at an introductory price of Rs 4.29 Lakhs (ex, showroom), New Delhi. The Limited-Edition was presented in three variants namely 0.8 -litre, 1.0-litre and 1.0-litre AMT. The Neotech Edition launch celebrates Renault Kwid reaching a milestone of 3.50 lakh units sale in the Indian market. The Neotech Edition aims to offer plenty of first-in-segment features. With a mere price hike of Rs 30,000 over respective variants, the Limited Edition Kwid Neotech provides a dual-tone exterior. The buyer has the option to choose either from Zanskar Blue body with Silver roof or Silver body with Zanskar Blue roof. 2020 Mahindra Thar Launched at Rs 9.80 Lakhs in India

Mahindra & Mahindra finally launched the much-anticipated Thar at an introductory price of Rs 9.80 lakhs (ex-showroom) today in the Indian market. The SUV is offered in two trims namely AX and LX. The top-end AX variant is priced at Rs 12.20 lakhs (ex-showroom). While the LX variant falls in the price bracket of Rs 12.49 lakhs - Rs 12.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). The company had earlier unveiled the SUV in August 2020. Bookings for it also began last week. 2020 Hyundai i20 Interior and Exterior Details Leaked

Hyundai Motor India will be launching the third generation of i20 hatchback anytime soon in the country. One of the company’s best sellers in India, the hatchback was globally showcased earlier this year in March. It has also been spotted doing test runs on Indian roads in the past on multiple occasions. The hatchback has already been launched in selected European countries. Along with this, the production has also started at the parent company's plant in Turkey. The production of the India-spec model is likely to start in the coming weeks. Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition Launched at Rs 44.90 Lakhs

BMW Group India launched the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition at a sticker price of Rs 44.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. Being limited to merely 15 units, the Sidewalk Edition will be sold as a Completely Built-Up unit (CBU) with bookings open exclusively through the company's online shop. It will be offered in Deep Laguna metallic exterior colour while featuring unique design elements at the outside and inside the cabin. Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition is based on the first special edition of this line which was launched in 2007. Under the hood, the Sidewalk Edition has a BS6 compliant 2.0L 4-cylinder twin-turbo engine which delivers a top power of 189bhp and peak torque of 280Nm. Read More

Suzuki Motorcycle Launches New Colour Options for Gixxer 250

Suzuki Motorcycle India launched new liveries for its Gixxer 250 and Gixxer series last week. This is being done to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Gixxer series. In order to pay homage to Suzuki’s early Grand Prix machines of the 1960s, the company has introduced Gixxer SF 250 in the new Triton Blue/Silver colour option. Talking about the Gixxer 250, it has been introduced in Metallic Triton Blue with Suzuki racing graphics. As for the Gixxer Series, both Gixxer and Gixxer SF will be re-introduced with a new big Gixxer graphic. This will give the motorcycles a sportier look. Kia Sonet Crosses 35000 Bookings Since Launch

Kia Motors India recently launched its subcompact SUV, Sonet, in the Indian market. The company reported the highest-ever retail sales in the country last month for the Sonet. It has been a key contributor to the company’s cumulative sales of 18,676 units in the month of September. Talking about New Kia Sonet, it has registered a whopping 9266 unit sales within 12 days of its launch in India. This was followed by the company’s first product in the Indian market, Seltos that registered 9079 units sales last month.
