We are back with our weekly dose of Auto shots for you! This week, there were a plethora of new product launches in the Indian market. Right from 2020 Honda Jazz Facelift, Audi RS Q8 and All-New Honda Hornet 2.0, a number of new cars and bikes were introduced in the country. In addition to this, Mahindra & Mahindra launched the BS6 Marazzo while Ducati Panigale V2 was also launched in the Indian market. TVS Motor Company and Honda 2-Wheelers India introduced the disc brake variants of Jupiter and Livo, respectively, in India. Triumph Motorcycles unveiled the Trident design prototype which will hit the roads by early 2021. Below are the eight headlines of this week in the automotive world:
Triumph Trident Design Prototype Unveiled
The Triumph Trident design prototype was revealed recently at the London Design Museum. The prototype bore to fruition after a 4-year development program at Triumph Motorcycles design facility in the UK. The striking point of the bike is the delicate combination of minimalist form, Triumph signature design and Speed triple muscular poise. The Trident prototype reveals the style and design of in-the-works middleweight Triumph roadster. This new model is expected to arrive at dealerships by early 2021. There is not much known but we believe in the coming days we could perhaps get a clearer picture on this product. TVS Jupiter ZX Disc Launched at Rs 69052
TVS Motor Company launched the Jupiter ZX variant with i-Touchstart feature at a starting price of Rs 69,052 (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The i-Touchstart tech delivers a silent and instant start, barring the noise while making it an ideal vehicle for constant starts in thick traffic. TVS Jupited ZX also gets a disc brake system while a few other features also include an all-in-one lock to operate the ignition, steering lock, seat lock and fuel tank cap with a single keyhole. It directly rivals the country's best-seller Honda Activa 6G. The new variant comes with Ecothrust Fuel injection (ET-Fi) technology which improves the mileage by 15 percent than before. Read More
Honda Livo BS6 Disc Brake Launched at Rs 74,256
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched the BS6 Livo at the end of June this year. The bike was available in two variants namely disc brake and drum brake. Recently, the company revealed the price of the disc brake variant. However, it had already announced the price of the drum brake variant at the time of the launch itself. The BS6 Honda Livo disc brake variant is priced at Rs 74,256 (Ex-Showroom) which makes it costlier by Rs 4200 than the drum brake variant. Talking about the drum brake variant, it is currently offered at Rs 70,056 (Ex-Showroom) in the country. Honda Livo BS6 is available in four color options namely Athletic Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Black, and Imperial Red Metallic. Read More
2020 Honda Jazz Facelift Launched at Rs 7.49 Lakhs
Honda Cars India launched the 2020 Jazz facelift at a starting price of Rs 7.49 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. The hatch was introduced in only petrol fuel trim in three grades: V, VX and ZX. The 2020 Honda Jazz facelift comes with a plethora of cosmetic updates while powered by a set of BS6 compliant engines. The bookings for the hatch started a couple of weeks back - both online and at Honda dealerships. It is at loggerheads with the likes of Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and VW Polo. Ducati Panigale V2 Launched at Rs 16.99 Lakhs
Ducati India launched the Panigale V2 at a sticker price of Rs 16.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. It replaces the Panigale 959 in the Indian market while being the Italian bikemaker's first BS6 compliant model in India. The Panigale V2 is the new entry-level motorcycle in Ducati's portfolio but it is nearly Rs 1.70 Lakhs more expensive than the 959 Panigale which was priced at Rs 15.30 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). Ducati Panigale V2 directly rivals the recently launched BMW S1000RR in the country. Powered by a 955cc twin-cylinder Superquadro petrol engine which has been updated to Euro5/BS6 emission norms, it is more powerful than the BS4 unit by 5bhp as it now belts out top power of 155bhp at 10750rpm and peak torque of 104Nm at 9000rpm. Audi RS Q8 Launched at Rs 2.07 Crore in India
Audi India launched the RS Q8 at a starting price of Rs 2.07 Crore (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. It is the most powerful and fastest SUV in the Audi family with a Nordschleife lap timing of 7 minutes 42 seconds. The high-performance SUV comes with RS Dynamic Package Plus as option while it takes on the likes of Lamborghini Urus and Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the Indian market. Being firstly unveiled at the LA Motor Show last year, Audi RS Q8 bookings in India had started a few weeks back at a token payment of Rs 15 Lakhs. All-New Honda Hornet 2.0 Launched at Rs 1.26 Lakhs
Honda 2-Wheelers India launched the all-new Hornet 2.0 at a sticker price of Rs 1.26 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Gurgaon) in the country. The deliveries of the naked street sports fighter starts from the first week of September in the Indian market while it will also be exported to various global markets. The all-new Honda Hornet 2.0 comes with several first-in-segment features while it rivals the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. The bike can also be booked at Honda's official website apart from the authorized dealerships. It is powered by a BS6 compliant 4-stroke HET engine which delivers top power of 17bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 16.1Nm at 6000rpm. Read More
Official: Mahindra Marazzo BS6 Launched at Rs 11.25 Lakhs
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) officially launched the BS6 compliant Marazzo at a starting price of Rs 11.25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The MPV is now available in three grades: M2, M4+ and M6+. Mahindra Marazzo BS6 comes with a best-in-class Standard Warranty of 5 Years/1,00,000 kms and the lowest service cost of 58 paise/km for scheduled maintenance. Being the country's safest MPV with a 4-star rating in adult safety from Global NCAP, it rivals the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
