We are back with our weekly dose of Auto shots for you! This week, there were a plethora of new product launches in the Indian market. Right from Renault Duster 1.3 Turbo, Bajaj Platina 100 ES Disc Brake and BMW 3-Series GT Shadow Edition In addition to this, PURE EV launched the E-Trance + while Porsche 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4 were also launched in the Indian market. Toyota Urban Cruiser bookings started at Rs 11,000 ahead of the launch while Kia Sonet set a new record of registering 6500+ bookings in a single day. Renault Duster 1.3L Turbo Petrol Launched at Rs 10.49 Lakhs

Renault India launched the Duster 1.3L turbo petrol at a starting price of Rs 10.49 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, All India) in the country. It was introduced in three trims: RXE, RXS and RXZ. Besides the entry-level RXE trim, the other two grades also get the X-Tronic CVT gearbox along with a manual transmission. The French automaker has not discontinued the existing Duster 1.5L petrol range but offered it with a revised introductory price of Rs 8.59 Lakhs. PURE EV E-Trance+

PURE EV launches E-Trance + at Rs 56,999 in India

PURE EV launched the electric scooter E-Trance+ in India at Rs 56,999 (Ex-Showroom, India). PURE EV is a start-up incubated by IIT, Hyderabad which is making waves in the Indian electric vehicle market. The E-Trance+ is their fifth product and is claimed by the manufacturer to be India’s first unisex electric bike. Being powered by a 1.25 KWH portable battery, the scooter can travel upto 65 kilometres on a single full charge. The company has an in-house battery manufacturing facility and R&D set-up at IIT Hyderabad campus. The R&D team is focussing efforts on core areas like battery thermal management system for developing high-performance and long-range Li Batteries. Bajaj Platina 100 ES Disc Brake Variant Launched at Rs 60,698

Baja Auto recently expanded its product line up by launching the Platina 100 ES Disc Brake variant at Rs 60,698 (ex-showroom). This particular variant is Rs 2221 costlier than the Drum Brake trim. The Drum Brake variant is currently available at Rs 58,477 (ex-showroom). Bookings along with the delivery of the motorcycle have begun at respective dealerships across the country. The new Platina 100 ES Disc Brake variant is available in two color options namely Red & Black. The addition of disc brakes up front has resulted in a slight increase in the kerb weight of the bike. Porsche 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4 Launched at Rs 1.59 Crore

Porsche launched the 718 twins - Spyder and Cayman GT4 - in the Indian market this week. The German luxury automaker currently retails the Boxster and Cayman variants in the 718 lineup in India. The newly launched Spyder and Cayman GT4 are swifter and more powerful than the Boxster and Cayman models in India. The exciting bit is that the company is offering manual transmission with the 2020 Spyder and Cayman GT4 for the Indian buyers. In June 2019, it unveiled the 2020 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4 internationally. BMW 3-Series GT Shadow Edition Launched at Rs 42.50 Lakhs

BMW India launched the 3 Series GT 'Shadow Edition' at a sticker price of Rs 42.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. Being available in petrol fuel trim at all the company authorized dealerships from today, it will be locally manufactured at the BMW Plant Chennai. BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo 'Shadow Edition' will be offered in M Sport design scheme while it will be delivered to buyers after a thorough sanitisation process along with handover of all vehicle documents in a sanitised envelope. The deliveries will commence adhering to all the local government directives. Under the bonnet, it has the 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine which generates maximum power of 248bhp and peak torque of 350Nm. Official: Toyota Urban Cruiser Bookings Start at Rs 11,000

Toyota India commenced the bookings for the Urban Cruiser at a token amount of Rs 11,000 in the country. The bookings can be made both online and at all the authorized Toyota dealerships. Being based on Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser will be launched next month, i.e. September 2020 in the Indian market. The company has also revealed several exterior and interior features of the SUV along with the engine and transmission options. Kia Sonet registered 6500+ bookings in one day in the Indian market. The upcoming subcompact SUV has set a new record by bagging 6523 orders on the very first day of booking. For those asking, the pre-orders for the Sonet started yesterday, i.e. August 20, 2020, across the country at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Kia Sonet launch in India will take place in mid-September with detailed price announcement.
