Mahindra XUV500 was a runaway success upon its launch in India. Even with the entry of several rivals in the market, the SUV continued to perform well in terms of sales. The company has updated this car from time to time to keep it relevant with changing times. In keeping with the current trend, the Indian carmaker has now given a key update to the top-end W11 trim of the car. This SUV has now received a key infotainment update in the form of the Apple CarPlay interface. Wondering why this is important? This feature mirrors the screen of your iPhone connected to the car on the touchscreen infotainment system. This is made possible through Bluetooth technology and gives iPhone easy access to various phone functions through voice commands and the car's steering-mounted phone controls. Now you can make and receive phone calls and send out text messages from your XUV500.
Mahindra & Mahindra Chief (Sales and Marketing-Automotive Division) Veejay Ram Nakra said,
At Mahindra, our vehicle offer consumers Accessible Technologies. The introduction of Apple CarPlay enhances the convenience & connectivity offered by the XUV500 and will generate a lot of interest among our potential customers. To delight our customers, we will provide this update to existing owners of the W11 variant as well. They can visit a Mahindra authorized workshop to get their infotainment system upgraded with Apple CarPlay.
For the unacquainted, XUV500's infotainment system already comes with Android Auto support. This new infotainment update will be factory-fitted on every W11 variant of XUV500. For the existing XUV500 W11 variants, the buyers can get the Apple CarPlay app to the current infotainment system at their nearest Mahindra service center. It remains to be seen if owners of other variants of XUV500 will also have access to this new feature. Mahindra is offering these smartphone mirroring software updates on Marazzo and XUV300 as well. This makes XUV500 the third car in the lineup to receive this feature.
