The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is celebrating its 10 years of operations in India, and to mark this occasion, the brand has revealed the SU7 EV for Indian customers. The company showcased the SU7 electric sedan at an event held in Bengaluru. Xiaomi was expected to make its debut in the Indian electric segment. However, as of now, the brand has no plans to launch this new electric sedan in the Indian market.

The Xiaomi SU7 EV, also called the Speed Ultra, is the brand’s first-ever car. The Chinese tech giant is said to have invested $10 billion in the electric vehicle segment. Xiaomi launched the SU7 in China at a starting price of $30,000 (around INR 25 lakh), making it approximately $4,000 cheaper than the Tesla Model 3. To display its technological prowess, the company has now showcased the electric sedan in India.

If the company decides to launch the Xiaomi SU7 EV in India, then it would give tough competition to BYD Seal Electric, which is also available in the Indian market. The Xiaomi SU7 comes equipped with two drivetrains: the all-wheel-drive system and the rear-wheel-drive system. The rear-wheel-drive version churns out a power of 295 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm, whereas the all-wheel-drive version with a dual electric motor generates an output of 664 bhp and a peak torque of 838 Nm.

In terms of dimensions, the Xiaomi SU7 electric measures 1,963 mm in width, 1,455 mm in height, and 4,997 mm in length. It has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and a fuel capacity of 105- liters. The Xiaomi SU7 has two battery options: a 73.6 kWh battery and a 101-kWh battery. The former provides a certified range of 535 km, while the latter has a claimed range of 800 km. The Xiaomi SU7 EV has a top speed of 265 kmph, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just three seconds.
