This is the first in a series of planned outlets that will focus on Yamaha’s scooter range

Yamaha is keen on keeping its scooter sales momentum going and has opened its first scooter boutique, spanning 3,100 square feet, in Chennai. The Yamaha Scooter Boutique offers sales and service facilities and has the full range of scooters on display. Yamaha’s scooter offerings will now have a dedicated department for sales and service support and the company plans to open 20 such boutiques in metros and semi-urban areas in the future.

The company currently sells the Ray-Z, Ray-ZR, Alpha and Fascino, all of which are powered by the same 113cc motor that makes 7.2hp and 8.1Nm. Recent spy images show Yamaha is working on the Grande Nozza and, if launched, it will be the company’s first 125cc scooter in the Indian market.

Yamaha is also displaying premium maxi-scooters from its international range, like the X-Max 300, at its showroom as well, but it’s unlikely that it will come here.
